Originally hailing from south Florida, Peter received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in English from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. There he produced his Master’s thesis on the major plays of Tennessee Williams. Peter holds a PhD from the University of Chicago, where he taught several courses on American literature and visual media, mentored senior undergraduates undertaking thesis projects, and served in programs that prepared Chicago-area high school students and incoming UChicago freshmen for success at the college level. He also worked for three years at the Regenstein Library’s Special Collections Research Center. He enjoys collaborating with students to develop their scholarly interests, as well as helping them refine their voices as young writers. In his spare time, Peter enjoys playing piano, exploring archives, and thinking about cinema and games. Two of his freelance articles have appeared in Kill Screen, a print and online magazine about gaming and interdisciplinary play.
