Mary Solomons has worked in higher education administration for over 30 years, initially at her alma mater Wellesley College, where she graduated with high honors with a degree in art history. Her subsequent career included positions at Skidmore College, Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and Syracuse University. Her expertise spans from knowledge of campus resources and programs to individual student narrative creation and interest development.
Throughout her career she has worked with students to help them discover their passion and then articulate it: verbally, in print, and online, each mode benefits from a distinctive style of expression. Mary shares her love of learning as a frequent conference presenter and mentor. Her achievements have been recognized by the Association of Donor Relations Professionals who awarded her Volunteer of the Year and Saratoga TODAY newspaper named her a Woman of Influence. Outside of academia, Mary enjoys renovating houses and working with power tools. Her passion for learning was inspired by her grandmother who would tell her, “Invest in your education, it’s something no one can take from you.”
