ESC Recognized at 2019 China Social Impact Awards

The 2019 China Social Impact Awards seek to recognize exemplary professional work in enriching the environmental and social landscape in China. Alongside other well-established firms such as ConocoPhillips and Starbucks China, we were selected as one of seven finalists for the British Chamber of Commerce’s award for Employee Engagement in China.

ESC is happy to represent the gold standard of employee engagement practices in an ever-growing Chinese market. In the past year, we have created an internal Diversity, Inclusion and Equity committee, held multiple workshops on cross-cultural interaction, and developed company-wide initiatives to better understand and practice inclusive communication. Our company makeup reflects this appreciation for diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Our Chinese staff come from a range of Chinese provinces; with some representing far-away areas such as Heilongjiang and Inner Mongolia, and some coming from Beijing itself. Our international staff come from countries such as the United States, Canada, South Africa, Malaysia, and Vietnam.

Representing various faith traditions, backgrounds, and creeds, employees help mutually reinforce ESC’s business ethos as a center of inclusivity and engagement. Beyond the office itself, we bring this commitment to a variety of community-building activities in Beijing and beyond. Throughout October and November, we participated in and raised money with Chi Fan for Charity, an annual fundraiser which raised close to 500,000 RMB for visually-challenged orphans in the Beijing area. Elsewhere, we have partnered pro-bono with pre-college programs in Myanmar, as well as students in rural China, to help under-privileged groups and individuals gain access to first-rate advisory services and practice in the education management sector.
