Nicholas earned his Bachelor’s degree from Columbia University in East Asian Studies, studying interdisciplinary approaches to gender dynamics in China. He received grants for immersive Japanese study in Sapporo and for an internship managing English teaching programs in Beijing. Having served on the executive board for the Columbia Japan Society, supported his school’s Chinese Conversation Club, and worked for a non-profit ESOL program, Nicholas is committed to community building and cross-cultural communication. At ESC, Nicholas enjoys working both in workshops and one-on-one with students, engaging and encouraging them to foster their diverse and exciting interests. When he is not studying languages or reading, you can find Nicholas cycling through the city or conversing with friends over great food.
