Maya graduated from the University of Michigan with a dual degree in Asian Studies and Sociology. During her time as an undergrad, she became interested in intercultural connections, the process of cultural assimilation, and the impact of modernization on traditions and cultures. After graduation, Maya moved to Beijing in order to conduct a successful study abroad experience for students from various American Universities.  In her free time, Maya is an active participant in the Ultimate Frisbee community with goals of developing leadership, teamwork, and athleticism in the female youth.
