Originally from Wyoming, Aurora holds a BA from Swarthmore College, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in linguistics. During her time at Swarthmore, Aurora enjoyed performing in operas, a mariachi group, and various choral ensembles. She then went on to get an MA in linguistics from the University of Chicago, with her research focusing on how difficulty of articulation impacts the frequency at which particular forms appear in American Sign Language.
Through her time leading discussion groups and working with undergraduate students on research projects, Aurora has developed a passion for supporting students in developing skills and challenging themselves through their academics. She is excited to help students explore and deepen their interests, while honing their writing skills. In her free time, Aurora enjoys singing in choirs, reading books, and cooking.
